Henry’s Surgery Fund

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Henry’s Surgery Fund. Unfortunately, Henry needs another cystotomy to remove the calcium oxalate stones that developed in his bladder. These types of stones are unable to be dissolved by food or medicine and surgery is the only way to remove them.

After speaking with the vet, I received a breakdown of the surgery that ranges from $2,800-3,000.

I am asking for any help I can get to schedule this surgery as soon as possible.

Henry’s Health Story

Hi everyone! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Samantha and 9 years ago the greatest little love came into my life.

I got Henry in 2016 and he is the sweetest, most loving and snuggliest pup I’ve ever seen. The amount of times this pup has saved me is insane and now it’s my turn to save him because my fur baby needs surgery… again.

Back in July 2024, Henry started peeing blood and after taking him to the vet it was apparent he had bladder stones. We changed his diet to try and dissolve them but the stones he had were not dissolvable. Henry had emergency surgery in October 2024 to remove the stones so he could urinate.

Since his original surgery, he has been doing so well but unfortunately, was not strict on his special diet and he had blood spots in his urine again in June 2025. After getting a urine analysis and xray, the vet confirmed he once again had bladder stones.. the same type he had last year that would require another cystotomy surgery. Henry also has a newly discovered heart murmur that will require a little extra care when surgery happens.

Y’all were so generous last year to help Henry and I have no business asking for help again but a surgery like this is very costly and there is no way to financially plan for this.

Jerremy and I plan on working and saving as much as possible in the upcoming weeks but this surgery is important to get sooner rather than later to prevent further damage in his bladder.

Any amount helps and I am so grateful for all of the love & support. Henry deserves the best and healthiest life possible and I plan on continuing to give him just that.

Thank you and love you all!

Giving FAQs

  • A cystotomy is a surgical procedure involving an incision into the urinary bladder, most commonly performed to remove bladder stones or to correct other bladder issues. It can also be used for exploration of the lower urinary tract, removal of masses, or biopsy.

  • Every donation made will be put towards the surgery bill which is estimated to be $2,800-3,000.

  • Unfortunately, there is no way to tell if this will happen again. The hope is that with a stricter diet and proper monitoring of his urine, we will be able to prevent further stones from forming.
